Tuesday Evening Reflection

While standing on an overpass near Chelsea Market, I was looking straight up 10th Ave, enjoying a delightful breeze, when all of a sudden, I felt like reflecting, followed by meditating for as long as my mind would remain quiet.

Before indulging in this pleasant temptation to reflect and meditate, I decided to take a pic to add to my photo journal, right before closing my eyes and consciously embracing my thoughts.

If you’re wondering why I took the picture shown in the above photo, I did so just in case I wanted to write about this experience later on; therefore, I would have this photo to reference, allowing me to recall this moment much more vividly.

With the picture now taken and stored in one of my e-Folders, I then eased over to the bench closet to the edge of the footbridge, which provided an excellent view of midtown Manhattan.

Next, I sat down in a yoga-like position, and then I deliberately slowed down my breathing rhythm, closed my eyes, placed a hand on each of my hips, made myself comfortable, and began to let my thoughts flow freely.

After being in a creative thinking flow for nearly 25 minutes, I opened my eyes and followed that up by blinking them fastly a few times. When my eyesight came into focus, surprisingly, I saw a mental image of you, yes you, sitting here right next to me, looking into my eyes with a big smile on your face.

Do you see me looking into your eyes at this very moment?

If you do, stay with me and continue reading my words as you also imagine being here right beside me, just as surprised as I am. Lol!

So after making eye contact and watching me smile back at you, we instinctively embraced each other with a warm hug, which felt so nice. Even though this is an imaginary hug, I can still feel the #kindness inside your heart and your sense of #purpose to make the world a better place, something we have in common. 😊

With that lovely thought in my mind and flowing through my soul, I stood up with a feeling of blissfulness and started walking home with some extra pep in my step!

Worth mentioning, to make it to the street level, I had to walk down a metal staircase, and just as I was about to go downstairs, I began to hear the unique sound of a #NYC city bus rolling across a cobblestone paved road, piquing my curiosity.

Since the noise was coming from my left, naturally, I turned to look in that direction to get a closer view. After doing so, I found myself standing awestruck because of the spectacular imagery in the background, indeed a beautiful sight to behold.

Well, folks, it’s not too often that I get to spend time with you on a Tuesday evening, but I felt like journaling and thought I would share what I wrote and maybe brighten your day.

All in all, it took me seven minutes to craft this post, and I appreciate you reading it and engaging in the comments section. Lastly, concerning our latest virtual walk together, the pleasure was all mine.

Enjoy the rest of your week. Let’s go!
