The NYC Skyline

I was relaxing alongside the Hudson yesterday evening, marveling at the sight of the sky transitioning from daylight to nightfall as I eased into the weekend. The view was indeed breathtaking, and when you add in the soothing sounds of the tiny river waves splashing up against the pier, I remember sitting on the dock and thinking just how grateful I was for this moment!

As I continued looking across the Hudson, totally mesmerized by the scenery, I suddenly began to hear the soft sound of a horn coming from my left, which naturally made me turn in that direction. A few seconds later, a yacht with bright yellow lights came cruising by, heading straight towards Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty.

Watching this boat float down the Hudson got my creative writing juices flowing just like the river, which meant that it was time for me to start journaling!

So, are you ready to take another walk with me? If so, please take a sip of your coffee and then concentrate on the words I am about to share so that you can feel this experience of walking with Mr. Anthony Sledge as if you were here. Let’s go!

Next, I stood up calmly and then started walking towards the ferry terminal and capturing my thoughts in my journal app along the way. It was a pleasant stroll that included taking pictures of the sky blending nicely from day into night as well as stopping for a brief chat with some of my neighbors.

After that friendly exchange, I was back on the move to the ferry terminal with a heliport right beside the Goldman Sachs Tower. As I got close to entering the terminal walkway, a much-needed cool breeze washed over my body, causing me to pause, followed by closing my eyes and allowing myself to relish in the lovely feeling that the universe just gifted me.

I then spotted a bright flag reflecting a reddish layer of light on top of the water that was just gorgeous!

With the sky now dark, I finally made it to the furthest point on the pier and sat down to reflect on the experience I had getting here. My immediate thought was that I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

As I was sitting comfy on a black bench near a flag pole, I began to hear footsteps, and when I looked around, I saw a couple holding hands strolling in my direction. They looked happy, so I figured it was probably their first date. Lol! I waved as they went by, and they responded in kind.

I must have sat on the pier for another 20 minutes before heading back home. When I made my way to the front of the dock during my exit, I turnaround and took another glance at my favorite city, so great that we named it twice, New York, New York, and then I called it a night — the end.

Well, I enjoyed spending time with you and would love to get your thoughts on our latest walk together.

Until next time, I wish you a fabulous weekend! 😊
