Rockefeller Center

Before getting my weekend officially started, I deliberately took a moment to decompress from a productive work week, followed by reflecting on this past week’s valuable life lessons; and then documenting my key takeaways into my electronic journal.

Once I finished summarizing my thoughts into my journal app, I felt energized and was now ready to kick-start this first weekend in December in a massive way!

So with a plan to meet up with a dear friend near Rockefeller Center for dinner and a movie on tap for Friday evening, I jumped in the shower, got dressed, then rushed over to the subway station and rode the F-train straight into midtown Manhattan.

The next thing I knew, I was standing across from the Radio City Music Hall entrance on 49th Street and 6th Avenue, waiting for the traffic light to change so that I could cross the street with a bunch of my fellow New Yorkers.

Right before crossing 6th Avenue, I recall standing still for a full minute with my hands in my pocket, consciously admiring the festive sights, sounds, and that magical holiday spirit you can only experience being in the heart of New York City!

Since I had 30 minutes to spare before my dear friend would arrive, I decided to take advantage of my wait time by wandering around Rockefeller Center. By doing so, I was sure to gift myself with views of some beautiful holiday decorations and get my first look at the world’s most famous Christmas tree, which was only a block away.

While en route to the center of Rockefeller Plaza to be a part of the holiday magic, I had the good fortune of strolling by the Channel Gardens fountains, where the Christmas Angles reside, which is always a lovely sight to see.

If you haven’t been here before, this is an area I highly recommend you walk through slowly, allowing yourself ample time to appreciate the incredible atmosphere and all of its beauty.

After observing the Christmas Angels and this year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, I eased over to 5th Avenue to witness a breathtaking light show that was nearby.

With that in mind, I quickly made it to the front of the Saks Fifth Avenue #NewYorkCity flagship store to check out its gorgeous holiday windows and spectacular light show, which was in full swing for everyone’s viewing pleasure.

Well, folks, I have to stop here because I just received a text message from my dear friend Ciara, letting me know that she was here. Lol!

Indeed, time flies when you’re having fun and the six minutes it took me to craft this latest journal entry seemed like it happened in the blink of an eye! 😊

Friends, I trust you enjoyed this holiday slideshow, and thank you so much for consuming this post.

I look forward to reading your comments and engaging with you periodically throughout the day.

Happy Holidays!
