Looking Toward the Avenue

Yesterday, at 6:07 pm, I was in the heart 💚 of Midtown Manhattan enjoying the nice weather while on my way to speak at a networking event in the UBS Building.

When I made it to the corner of 6th Avenue and 52nd Street, I spotted a massive money-green-colored sculpture, which immediately got my attention!

Although I’ve been by this massive sculpture a thousand times, I didn’t know its name or much about it.

For those who follow me regularly on #LinkedIn, you know how naturally curious I am, so I stopped in front of the sculpture, did a quick search on Google, and found its name and a bit about its history.

Moreover, I learned that Jim Dine created the sculpture and named it “Looking Toward the Avenue.” This unique-looking sculpture has some fascinating history, which you can look up at your convenience if you’re curious.

After reviewing the information on my #iPhone 13, I walked into the UBS building to link up with the #networking group. As I was making my way through the lobby to catch the elevator, I had to walk by the UBS Art Gallery, indeed a lovely sight to see.

Since I had 17 minutes to spare before my scheduled time to speak at the networking event, I took a moment to take a quick impromptu tour of the Art Gallery, and, of course, I took some pictures for my photo journal.

After the networking event concluded, I hopped back on the elevator with a few of my new friends and rode it down to the street level.

Then, I headed outside towards the Comcast Building on my way to the Rockefeller Center Subway Station.

Before I knew it, I was on the F-train riding home, and while I was sitting on the train, I started journaling my thoughts to pass the time.

In less than 10 minutes, I was done typing in my newest journal entry into my iPhone journal app; and decided to share a portion of what I wrote and some of the photos I took with you on this beautiful Wednesday evening — the end.
