Lincoln Square
While walking on the treadmill this evening, I was reading through my journal when I came across an entry that gave me a nice chuckle. So as I began my cool down and prepared to go upstairs, I suddenly felt the need to add to this particular journal entry, allowing me to complete my train of thought during that moment.
I only needed three minutes to finish updating my entry and figured that I would post what I wrote and engage with you for a little bit tonight. Are you ready to mentally transport yourself right beside me?
If so, imagine me getting off the 1-train and making my way up the steps to exit the Lincoln Center subway station. Upon landing outside on the sidewalk, I stop for a few minutes to do some light stretching. Once I’ve completed my warmup routine, I walk across the street because it looks like to would be more enjoyable to run on that side.
After making it onto the other side of the road, I quickly rolled up on a street vendor who appeared to be getting his food station set up to open for business.
Four minutes later, I was now standing on the corner of Columbus Avenue and Lincoln Square, jogging in place, waiting for the traffic light to change. Since it was super early on a Sunday morning, as you might expect, the city was quiet. Automobile traffic was light, so once I saw that the coast was clear, I took off running straight towards the park.
Worth mentioning, this is a wide intersection because it connects six city blocks. Also, I found the imagery, especially the Movado Clock, visually pleasing, and as I was making my way in that direction, I began to feel calm inside.
By the time I arrived on the corner of W 64th St, I felt like jogging around Dante Park, and when doing so, I managed to stop along the way to snap a few pics.
Before I knew it, I was roaming around the streets of #nyc, lost in thought, with the lovely sounds of light jazz music playing in my ears. When I came out of this flow state, I glanced at my watch to check my pace and time. To my surprise, I had been jogging for 57 minutes straight, but it felt more like a half-hour. Love it!
I didn’t want to overdo it, so I slowed my pace and started making my way back to the subway. While jogging to the train station, I passed by the American Folk Art Museum and made a mental note to plan a visit before the end of the year.
As I continued, getting closer to the subway station, I noticed a ton of smoke coming from a maintenance hole near one of the ABC News studios, which got my attention. When I determined it was not a drama situation, I kept it moving. Lol!
Shortly after passing by ABC, I was near the train station entrance getting ready to walk down the stairs. However, I had to wait for a city bus to drive by before crossing the street and entering the station. 😊
Well, friends, I love embracing the present moment and trust that you enjoyed our latest jog together. Let’s go!
Have a relaxing evening.
