Holiday Spirit

After watching one of the many #holiday movies on the Hallmark channel yesterday evening, which seems to air on this station all year round, it came as no surprise that I was full of the holiday spirit when I woke up this Saturday morning.

So after singing Christmas carols while taking a hot shower and then getting dressed, I decided that I would continue embracing this merry feeling by heading over to the pier to marvel at some of the new holiday decorations.

And, when done there, I figure that I will further keep the jolly spirit going by visiting a nearby mall to begin my Christmas shopping. By doing so, I will also be intentionally and eagerly patronizing some local and small businesses instead of doing all of my holiday shopping online this year!

So with my favorite Nat King Cole Christmas song now playing in my ears, I went strolling towards one of my beloved city piers with feelings of #love, #peace, and happiness in my heart for everyone in my #LinkedIn community.

Friends, before landing myself on a long beige bench near an assortment of beautiful holiday decorations, I made a quick stop into Starbucks to grab a fresh cup of hot cocoa. However, when I got inside, I bumped into a dear friend, Britney, dressed in her cool orange and black running gear, who talked me into trying one of the holiday drinks, specifically, a Chestnut Praline Latte.

Admittedly, it was an easy sell, and after chatting with her for 15 minutes or so, I was soon sitting on the pier enjoying the view of a massive Christmas tree, all decked out with a bunch of lights, with other holiday decorations blending nicely in the vicinity.

As I sat on the bench sipping on my fancy latte, preparing to capture my thoughts, all of a sudden, an idea for a memorable holiday journal entry popped into my head, capturing my imagination.

The gist of the idea was to take some of the photos I took this past Sunday evening while at this exact location and juxtapose those photos with the pics I am sure to take this morning on this gorgeous pier.

Without hesitation, I opened my Apple camera roll with that creative thought in mind, glanced at the pictures I took last Sunday evening, and then snapped some fresh pics in those same spots.

Right after taking the new photos, I slowly walked over to the royal blue chair and chess table you see below, sat down in the chair, and typed my latest journal entry into my journal app.

I finished capturing my thoughts 7-minutes later, and as I was quickly putting together this slideshow that I decided to share with you, I heard someone yell out my name, Anthony, and when I looked to the right, it was Britney, getting ready to jog past me. Lol!

Well, folks, I am now headed to the shopping mall to pick up a few gifts. I will end by saying; I will be visiting Rockefeller Center once the world’s most famous Christmas tree is put up for all to see, and there is a chance I may post about my experience.

Stay tuned…😊
