Belvedere Castle Central Park

This Saturday’s post begins with me standing on the corner of 5th Ave and 79th St, patiently waiting for the traffic light to change as I prepared to enter Central Park for a morning run with my jogging crew.

For those who’ve never been to Central Park, this happens to be the closest entry point to Belvedere Castle, a miniature castle atop what is known as Vista Rock, the second-highest natural point in my favorite #NYC park.

Keep in mind that I purposely arrived an hour before the scheduled meet-up time to allow myself time to visit the 149-year-old historic landmark, and by doing so, I would surely gift myself with some stunning views of the city’s most famous park!

After making it about 300-yards inside Central Park, I saw a sign, and the last word in the message grabbed my attention; thus, sparking creative thought.

At that moment, I thought of the thoughtful and inspiring exchanges I’ve had with many of you, which, ironically, I often describe as MAGICAL!

So, with the word magical as my theme, are you ready to accompany me on my lastest stroll in my beloved city? If you are, I kindly ask that you embrace my words wholeheartedly while periodically looking at the photos; and in so doing, I trust we will have another magical experience once you finish reading this story.

Now that you’ve mentally transported yourself to Central Park and feel like you’re standing right beside me, let’s not waste another second and get on with this newest adventure.

Please start by imagining me peacefully walking down a path in the park, and when I suddenly look to my left, there it was, the Belvedere Castle, indeed a sight to behold!

With extreme jubilation, I make a beeline over to the Belvedere Castle’s main entrance and proceed to hurry up the stairs.

Once I made it to the top, I took a moment to slowly look around and then mentally mapped out how I wanted to tour this magical place. Lol!

After 30 minutes of observing Belvedere Castle thoroughly (see for yourself by examining the pics), I was ready to depart to link up with my friends.

Then, as I was strolling back towards 79th St, I came upon the Romeo and Juliet and the Tempest bronze statues, each carefully positioned in front of the Delacorte Theater, which is also the home of Shakespeare’s annual summer theater festival.

If you’ve never been to this festival, it’s worth attending if you are in town when it’s occurring.

So after viewing the statues and snapping a few pics, I now needed to find a comfortable bench to sit on and journal my thoughts.

It didn’t take me long to locate a spot, settling on the bench shown below. I spent less than 10-minutes relaxing on that bench, typing this journal entry effortlessly into my #iPhone, which I decided to share with you. 😊

Well, folks, I’m at my character limit for a #LinkedIn post, so I will have to stop it here and complete the rest of the story in my secret journal.

Have a fun weekend!
